Dr. Mia Cowan

Mia Cowan MD FACOG MA MBA, aka “The B3 Specialist,” is among the country’s most well-known and respected board-certified gynecologist. She travels throughout the world teaching strategies for improving the quality of life of women struggling with weight gain, fatigue, and sexual dysfunction. Dr. Mia also provides exemplary care to adolescents and women of all ages for their gynecology care. She has special interest and training in hormonal balance, weight loss and TOTAL wellness. Dr. Mia LOVES coaching her followers “Ageless Belles” to “live well, age beautifully” through media, speaking, writing blogs and books. Her mission is simple – to provide her Belles with actionable strategies to experience beauty, balance and belief so they can LIVE THEIR BEST HEALTHY LIVES.


Selena Rodgers Dickerson

Mrs. Selena Rodgers Dickerson is the president of SARCOR, LLC, located in Birmingham, Alabama. SARCOR provides engineering design, project management, and surveying.

Selena is a graduate of Ramsay Alternative High School, She received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Tennessee State University, and her Masters in Business Administration in Project Management from Capella University. After getting laid off in 2010, Selena knew that she could either look for a job or look for contracts. She chose to search for her own contracts. Through prayer, drive, ambition, and perseverance, Selena has positioned her company to succeed by emphasizing leadership, communication, teamwork, and management strategies.

Selena is an active member of the Upsilon Eta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,

Incorporated, and was recognized as the chapter’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2014. She is a member of the Birmingham Charter Chapter of American Business Women Association. Selena is a graduate of Leadership UAB and SBA’s inaugural Emerging Leaders 2015 class in Birmingham.

Selena was appointed by Governor Robert Bentley to serve on the State of Alabama’s Manufactured Housing Commission to represent Congressional District 6. She was also appointed by Mayor William Bell to serve on the City of Birmingham’s Planning Commission.

SARCOR was the recipient of the Birmingham Business Alliance’s 2013 Dr. A.G. Gaston Minority or Woman-­‐Owned Emerging Business of the Year Award. The Birmingham Business Alliance recently nominated SARCOR for the 2014 U.S. Chamber of Commerce Dream Big Award. Selena was the recipient of the Birmingham Business Journal’s Entrepreneur Spotlight Award in 2014, and she was featured on the PBS nationally televised show, Start Up, in October 2014.

Selena is an active member of Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Fairfield, AL. She is happily married to Juwan Dickerson, and they have a two-year-old daughter, Allison Marie.


Alice Gordon

She is a media veteran and entrepreneur. I have also included a very informative video of her company and how she would ultimately be a perfect fit for the upcoming event.  Alice Gordon, former media veteran, corporate manager for the electric and nuclear industry and supply chain leader turned business entrepreneur, has propelled her to launch Skye Connect, Inc. She specializes in crisis and issue management, supply chain enhancement integration and content production.  Alice spent years working in corporate communications for Southern Company, one of the largest electric utility providers in the US. She sharpened her skills as a corporate spokesperson for Alabama Power Company, a Southern Company, where she spoke on behalf of the more than 6,500 employees impacting 1.4 million residential, industrial and commercial customers, and for Southern Nuclear Operating Company, manager of Southern’s three nuclear power plants.  After her time in communications, community and governmental management, she served as a manager in Supply Chain Management as Supplier Diversity and Relations Manager where she led and developed innovative and strategic initiatives such as internal compliance training, diversity database and key procurement tracking metrics.  Here is a link to a video of her company https://youtu.be/PjlyiFOa-dw


Apryl Fort-Kelly

Apryl Kelly is a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a degree in Finance, Accounting, and a minor is Business Law, Contracts and Negotiations. Apryl entered the financial world as a mortgage loan officer and has held positions as a mortgage underwriter, processor, commercial underwriter, and a commercial banker. Apryl is currently the Assistant Vice President at BancorpSouth in Birmingham, Alabama.

Apryl is the author of the book 52 Weeks to Fall In Love with Your Money, a guide to help you on the journey of discovering your financial soul mate. Apryl is the founder of the Wealthy Women’s Savings Club, where she teaches women the ins and outs of investing in the market.

Apryl has appeared on the Talk of Alabama (ABC33/40), the ABBY Award winning radio show Vital (95.7 Jamz). She has been fea tured as a financial contributor on the Joe Lockett Show on 101.1 WYDE, written for iPush Magazine and appeared on Attorney Eric Guster’s business radio show (98.7 Kiss).
